The Association is proud to recognise the efforts of our members for the dedication and effort towards their umpiring through a number of awards. Each is awarded in honour of previous Association members who were outstanding umpires and members.
Best Association Member - JA Preston Memorial Trophy
The JA Preston Memorial trophy is our most prestigious award and is awarded to the AFLQUA best association member. John (Jack) Anderson was vice president of the association in 1970, and a workhorse for the association until his untimely death in 1972.
This award is in is 43rd yeard of commemoration, and has been celebrated by field, boundary and goal umpires alike. The trophy is awarded regardless of rank, fitness or achievement on the field. The JA Preston memorial recognises the efforts afforded to the greater good of our association and has been received by AFL listed umpries, life members, and even a div 3 community umpire, who managed to pick up the award twice. Grant KenT Award
A new award in 2016, this is a joint award offered by both the Association and AFL Queensland. It is awarded to an umpiring who promotes umpiring in Queensland and gives service to umpiring throughout the year.

Most Improved Goal Umpire - Darryl Grice Perpetual Trophy
Most Improved Boundary Umpire - Stephen Chamberlain Trophy
Stephen Chamberlain was a promising teenage boundary umpire and a member of the association from 1975, following in his father Bills footsteps until his life was tragically cut short in 1979. This award was inaugurated in 1970 and has been awarded to life members, coaches and AFL listed umpires.

Most Improved Field Umpire - Robert Kassulke Perpetual Trophy
Bob Kassulke was a QLD product plating junior football and 2 years of senior football as a half forward flanker for the western districts bulldogs. Injury delivered an outstanding umpire to the association, and Bob went on to officiate in 216 senior games including 4 grand finals and he represented Queensland 6 times. Bob is a six time winner of the Les Goeldner Memorial, was inducted into the life members roll in 1968 and served on the senior executive between 1966 and 1983 filling the roles of secretary, vice president and president.

Most Committed to Training - Kevin J Symmons Memorial Trophy
Kevin 'Symmo' Symmons was an umpire for 13 years, officiating in 260 senior games; 7 grand finals between 1970 and 1985; 5 state games between 1973 and 1981. Symmo was umpire fitness coach for 11 years from 1972 until 1982; during hoch he also filled the role of umpire manager in 75 and 76. A well respected umpire; Symmo was made welcome by all clubs he officiated. The Kevin J Symmons memorial was inaugurated in 1996 and has been warded in all disciplines of umpiring at community, NEAFL and AFL levels.

Most Conscientious Umpire - Les Goeldner Memorial Trophy
Les Goeldner served the association for 32 years, from its inception in 1945, serving as our first treasurer, and hoding that positin until 1950. Les was the first member inducted into the life members roll, along with Harry O’Callahan and Chris De Hayr; and was the longest serving of the initial senior executive. The Les Goeldner memorial is the longest serving award that the association offers, initially awarded in 1964. Community Umpires 'Umpire' - Wayne Guiness Memorial Trophy
Wayne began his umpiring career as a boundary umpire , being appointed to 53 senior games and received the Stephen Chamberlain memorial as the most improved boundary umpire in 1988. Wayne then moved into field umpiring and was a very popular figure in the AFLSQ league.

Most Improved Community Umpire
President's Encouragement Award - Nev Sandford Memorial Shield
This is awarded at the discretion of the current serving President to an umpire of his or her choice. In 2014 it was renamed the Nev Sandford Memorial shield in honour of Nev who among his long list of achievements was the Association President in 1988.
